VBS Director
Sarah Ahlf
Sarah was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana. She has three brothers, two step-sisters, and one step brother. She has one daughter, Madison. She raised Madison by herself since she was 2 years old. Sarah is a graduate from Nicholls State University with a Bachelors in Secondary Education with a concentration in Family and Consumer Sciences. She is a teacher at Terrebonne High School where she teaches 9th-12th grade students Family and Consumer Sciences. Sarah has been married to Jeremy Ahlf since 2019, whom she met through mutual friends and he is what brought her to Coteau. Her husband is a Deacon and is part of the audio/visual ministry at church.
Sarah began a personal relationship with Christ as a single parent. Through those years she became reliant on the Lord for strength and comfort. Coming from a different religious background, she did not know about being born again and what that meant. She started attending Coteau when she started dating Jeremy. Her and Madison became regular attendees in October 2016 and became members soon after. At Coteau is where she learned about giving her life to Christ and being born again.
Sarah became involved with VBS in the summer of 2017 when she helped with the music rotation. Later that year, Sarah joined the praise team where she helps lead worship every Sunday. Towards the end of 2018, Sarah was asked to become the director of VBS. She knew it would be a challenge but she knew she could lean on God and her church leaders when needed. In December 2021, Sarah began teaching children’s Sunday School. She is learning new ways to reach children and is becoming more passionate about leading them. Sarah is excited to see where God is leading her through children’s ministry.
